St. Johns Country Day School was facing problems similar to many small schools that operate an in-house bookstore; the largest of which was inventory management. "We're not a big store, so trying to minimize the inventory, yet have books on-hand for students was probably our biggest challenge," said Janet Shuster, St. Johns Assistant Bookkeeper. The school would set up a book sale during orientation, and would keep books on-hand until after the drop/add time period was over. "We'd pack up anything that was grossly overstocked; which was a lot. I'd spend thousands of dollars shipping books back to publishers after school started," said Shuster. Managing textbooks in-house was costing St. Johns Country Day School both time and money.
Solution

"I still coordinate orders and work with MBS, but it has been a tremendous relief to me. MBS has gotten rid of two-thirds of the work!" exclaimed Shuster.
